I appreciate your warnings against isolationism. However, your portrayal of "America First" unfairly assumes the worst motives. Many reasonable people believe an independent America also serves global interests. Foreign policy requires balance between nationalism and allies. With empathy for all sides, we can find common ground. I share your caution about hyper-nationalism gone too far, but see room for good faith disagreement on America's ideal role. Progress requires understanding each other's perspectives.
