Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, with billions of people using social networking platforms to connect with friends and family and to consume news and entertainment.

While social media has many benefits, it has also been linked to adverse effects on mental health, particularly in teenagers.

As a psychiatrist and social scientist, I am interested in exploring the relationship between social media use and mental health among teenagers and how we can mitigate the adverse effects of social media on mental health.

In this article, I will examine the impact of social media on teenagers’ mental health, the psychological and social implications of social media use, the role of parenting in managing social media use, the importance of mindful social media use for mental health, and strategies for addressing the harmful effects of social media on mental health among teenagers.
